As an alumni from the University of Michigan Penny w. Stamps School of Art and Design, I believe that art is a communication tool that bridges together people of all backgrounds, communities, and body abilities. Within our interdisciplinary program I developed a concentration in painting, with a primary focus in oil based media. Through my work I examine the behavior of color, light, and form when organic and inorganic subject matter is synthesized into complex networks of visual information. My practice incorporates the use of modern technology to create these works, combining the historic act of painting with innovative tools such as computers and digital lenses to abstract and reimagine our world.
My love of fine art began at an extremely young age and since then has blossomed throughout my academic career. Now as an MFA Candidate at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, I believe that color is a language tool that can serve as an agent of change, carrying us through times of tragedy, and onwards towards hope. I am passionate about creating widespread accessibility to museums, galleries, and committed to igniting social change through art and design.
